Stand with Rebecca Wooster Against Cancer

Donation protected
One day, Rebecca woke up with an unexpected lump in her elbow, accompanied by severe pain. She went to the doctor, only to be told that immediate testing was needed. As the days went on, the stress, anxiety, and uncertainty took hold. Eventually, the devastating news came: it was cancer.
Update: After further tests and two rounds of chemotherapy, Becca was finally able to receive a full diagnosis. She has two tumor locations outside of the lymph nodes, along with swollen lymph nodes. Becca has been diagnosed with stage 4 DBLCL NH Lymphoma. Thankfully, her first round of chemotherapy appeared effective, so she will continue with the same R-CHOP regimen for at least six rounds.

Given her stage 4 diagnosis, she may require transfusions or radiology toward the end of her treatment, but this will depend on how she continues to respond. It’s important to note that, regardless of stage, lymphoma is treated as a blood cancer because it affects the entire immune system. Simply knowing it’s a B Cell Lymphoma calls for the same initial approach—IV chemotherapy. Starting treatment early is crucial in attacking this aggressive cancer, even when the diagnosis is still being finalized. The priority is always to act swiftly for the best chance of success.

Cancer is one of the hardest diagnoses to receive, no matter your age. But at 34, newly married, a loving guardian to her nieces, a devoted pet lover, and an adventurous spirit, this news was especially difficult. Rebecca Lynn Wooster is someone you’d be lucky to meet. If you know her, you know that she’s the kind of person who drops everything to help, whether it’s a stranger or someone she’s known forever.

Rebecca works as a supervisor at Ellsworth Corporation, but on February 19th, she began her first round of chemotherapy. Over the next 126 days, she will undergo R-CHOP intravenous chemotherapy, a treatment that will bring extreme fatigue, nausea, body aches, exhaustion, and the heartbreaking side effect of hair loss.

Rebecca and her husband, Kevin, are doing their best to manage medical expenses, household bills, groceries, medications, and personal needs as they also serve as guardians for two teenagers. Kevin has been working tirelessly to keep up with the financial demands, but with short-term disability offering little relief, the strain is overwhelming.

Now, it’s our turn to support Rebecca, the kindest person you’ll ever meet, and help her focus on her health instead of financial worries. With the economy being what it is, every bit of help counts. If you’re able to donate, whether it’s Visa cards, meal cards, gift cards, or financial support, please reach out to Bree Bobholz for more details on how to send it.

Let’s come together to make this challenging journey a little easier for Rebecca and her family.
