Hi, my name is Erin and I'm starting this fundraiser for our dear friend, Melody. Mel has been bravely battling breast cancer since her diagnosis of triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma in August 2022. Throughout this journey, she's shown incredible strength, undergoing chemotherapy, lumpectomy, radiation, and even showing "no evidence of disease" in March 2023.

However, recent scans in May 2024 revealed the cancer's return. After consultations with her oncologist, a double mastectomy has been scheduled for June 12th, 2024, as the most effective course of action.

The road ahead involves a 6-8 week recovery period followed by at least 4 additional months of chemotherapy. Mel's focus should be solely on healing and kicking cancer's butt – not financial worries.
