<div>Layo remains with a long recovery ahead but he continues fighting day by day. He is no longer in intensive care but still remains in critical condition. We are truly grateful for all the support and prayers and we would like to thank you all. We continue asking for your prayers for his recovery. Mom continues asking for privacy due to safety reasons as to why updates have been limited.  Funds will continue going directly to mom for Layo’s road to recovery and Layo’s son’s care. <div>Hello everyone, on Thursday night 1/23, my family experienced the unimaginable. At approximately 9:45 pm in Vallejo, CA, Hilario Martinez (Layo) as many may know, was working alongside his mother in his food truck. They were preparing to end their night right before selling out when an individual opened fire through the window resulting in a traumatic injury. He has sustained life threatening injuries and remains in critical care. This event occurred right in front of Layo’s mother, something no mother or family member should have to witness. The pain all his family and loved ones are going through is devastating. Many know and have seen the love Layo constantly gives to his community. Nobody would have imagined that showing love and trying to make a living would lead to such a tragedy. Layo has always been happy to serve his community/customers, and now we, his family, ask for you all to reciprocate that support and love through prayers or any donation you can make. We understand that times are tough right now financially for everyone, and we appreciate any donation made. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone for keeping Layo and his family/son in your prayers.

<div>Hola a todos, la noche del jueves 23 de enero, mi familia vivió lo inimaginable. Aproximadamente a las 9:45 p.m. en Vallejo, CA, Hilario Martinez (Layo), como muchos ya saben, estaba trabajando junto a su madre en su camión de comida. Estaban preparando para terminar su jornada justo antes de agotar su inventario cuando un individuo abrió fuego a través de la ventana, lo que resultó en una herida traumática. Él ha sufrido heridas que amenazan su vida y sigue en cuidado crítico. Este evento ocurrió justo frente a la madre de Layo, algo que ninguna madre o miembro de la familia debería tener que presenciar. El dolor por el que está pasando toda su familia y seres queridos es indescriptible. Muchos conocen y han visto el amor que Layo constantemente ofrece a su comunidad. Nadie hubiera imaginado que mostrar amor y tratar de ganarse la vida conduciría al evento que ocurrió. Siempre ha estado feliz de servir a su comunidad y a sus clientes, y ahora nosotros, su familia, les pedimos que retribuyan ese apoyo y amor a través de oraciones o cualquier donación que puedan hacer. Sabemos que en estos tiempos las dificultades económicas son grandes para todos, y apreciamos cualquier donación.
