<div>This is for Karen, the mother of Zackery. Some of you knew him as Turdle. He was murdered in cold blood in Venice Beach, right by the dog park that everyone loves. The man who took his life is finally going to trial this October and Karen deserves to be in that courtroom.

<div>Karen has been through the unimaginable. On top of her grief, she is working full-time and holding things together for her family. She will need to travel to California for the trial and bring Zackery’s two young children with her, as there is no childcare available. The cost of flights, time off work, and travel expenses is too much to carry alone.

<div>She is not going to this trial for revenge. The man who did this is facing either life without parole or the death sentence. Karen believes he should live and sit with what he did for the rest of his life. She deserves to be there to see that justice served and begin her healing.

<div>Zackery, or Turdle, was one of a kind. He was loving, funny, soulful, and deeply connected to the people around him. He made Venice his home and left a real impact on everyone he met. His friends still miss him. Still talk about him. Still love him.
