Help Us Support Beloved Teacher and Mother, Jodye Pool, in Her Fight Against Cancer
In January 2021, our dear friend, teacher, and mentor Jodye Pool was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, she has fought with extraordinary strength, undergoing ongoing treatments that have made it impossible for her to continue the work she loves most: teaching.
Jodye spent her career shaping young minds at Ramay Junior High in Fayetteville and Heritage High School in Rogers. Anyone who has ever crossed paths with her — whether student, parent, or colleague — knows the kind of light she brings into the world. Her passion for teaching went beyond the classroom; she saw her students as family, and many credit her with inspiring them, believing in them, and changing the trajectory of their lives.
But now, it's our turn to give back to someone who has given so much.
Due to the intensity and duration of her treatments, Jodye had to make the heartbreaking decision to step away from teaching. While she remains fiercely determined and hopeful, the financial strain from ongoing medical bills, travel to appointments, and daily living expenses is overwhelming.
Jodye is the proud mother of four incredible daughters who have stepped up to care for her in every way imaginable. They, along with her husband John, have been her rock through all of this. But even with their help, the costs of cancer are more than any one family should have to bear alone.
We are asking our community — friends, former students, fellow teachers, and anyone moved by her story — to help lift some of this burden. Every dollar raised will go directly toward Jodye's medical expenses, household needs, and support for her daughters as they care for their mom.
Jodye has always been the first to offer help, the last to ask for it. Let's show her that the love she poured into others wasn’t forgotten. Let’s rally around her with the same strength and generosity she gave to so many.
Please donate what you can. Share this with others. And above all, keep Jodye in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for standing with Jodye.
