Jason Bates is a devoted father who has been fighting tirelessly to stay present in his baby daughter’s life. Despite doing everything right—filing motions, showing up to court, and standing up for his rights—he has been excluded from the case without proper notice or the chance to be heard. This has left him in a heartbreaking and unfair position, where his voice as a parent is being silenced.

Jason is not accused of abuse or neglect. In fact, he has consistently stepped forward to provide a safe and loving home. Yet the system has denied him the due process that every parent is entitled to. The court finally allowed his daughter to be placed in his mother's care, but in doing so, he was required to move out of the apartment they had shared. He is allowed to spend just 3 hours a week with any of his family, or risk having the placement decision reversed.
