<div>On January 19, my best friend was forced to face something no newlywed, or anyone, should ever have to. <strong>Jacob was diagnosed with stage 2A testicular cancer.</strong> It is a mixed cancer, meaning it is two kinds, 60% being teratoma. This cancer does not respond to chemo or radiation. Jacob has been referred to UVA for further treatment and surgeries to remove infected lymph nodes behind his intestines and in front of his left kidney.

<div>Edited 6/2: Jacob is 2 weeks out from his surgery date! His surgery is Monday June 16th &amp; it's called a "Retroperitoneal", which is an "extensive transabdominal lymphadenectomy". He is looking at a 5-7 night hospital stay at UVA to ensure all of his bowels are settled back in place, followed by an 8+ week home recovery. Rose will also be out of work and traveling back and forth so I’m resharing the Go Fund Me in hopes that we can ease their worries a little during this time.
