Stand with Her: Overcoming Past Pain
Donation protected
Hello friends.
Please indulge me while I tell you my friend's story.
She is a dynamic woman who has spent her entire adult life escaping a dysfunctional childhood with emotionally and physically abusive parents. In her early 20s, she was raped by a predator and became pregnant. Despite being pressured to get an abortion, her strong morals would not allow her to do so, and she kept her baby. Years later, another predator took advantage of her, and she had a second child. This man is currently using her financially, and although she has a well-paying job, she struggles to meet her obligations. Her two boys are her world.
Despite her best efforts to move ahead, the anxiety of her past and the demands of the present have finally caught up with her and she reluctantly decided to seek medical help for her trauma. Rather than give up on life, she's made the decision to take a break and reset her life. Unfortunately, this does not come without cost. She has no pay protection at her job, but her bills and other obligations still come due.
Therefore, I humbly ask you to assist me in providing for my friend while they recover. I initially set the goal at $15,000 to account for 2-3 months of lost pay. However, in hindsight that may have seemed excessive to potential contributors. Therefore, I've lowered it to $7,500 in hopes of attracting more donations.
Of course, any size donation will help. And sharing this with your family and friends also helps.
She has not authorized me to do this and I want to maintain her privacy, so I will not reveal her identity. Please help me to make her recovery as anxiety-free as possible.
Thank you.
UPDATE: My friend was discharged from the hospital and was advised to take some time off from work while she recovers. She applied for short term disability but instead of approving it, HER COMPANY TERMINATED HER!
Therefore, not only does she need help paying her bills, now she needs money for an attorney.
