You might already be familiar with Haole if you follow his Instagram @haoleboysurfs but for those who have not been exposed to this amazing animal he is not just a dog that surfs with his family on weekends and holidays. Haole is the official Surf Dog for nonprofit A Walk On Water which provides surf therapy for children and adults with special needs. His duties as a volunteer for the past 4 years include everything from surfing with athletes, surfing beside them and their instructor, hanging out on the beach to provide a calming presence (or just some awesome snuggles) and celebrating athletes at each award ceremony. His valuable contribution makes an already incredible experience just that much more special.
Haole was recently diagnosed with cancer. He underwent a 9-hour surgery to remove multiple impacted lymph nodes and will begin a course of chemotherapy treatment today to put the cancer in remission. Haole has so much more stoke to share with families and so much love to provide his parents Kim and John Murphy as well as his little brother Primo which is why they are so committed to getting him healthy.
This commitment is very expensive. Although the Murphy’s have pet insurance, there are out of pocket expenses associated with such intense and long-term treatment.
In donating to this cause, you are not only helping them spend as much time as possible with their beloved pet, you are also contributing to an amazing animal who gives all he has to spread happiness and smiles.
