<div>It’s time to tell my story. I never get ready without a smile; it’s part of my caliber. For years, I couldn’t understand why I would swell, bruise easily, and gain weight, no matter the diet, exercise, personal trainer, discipline, etc. The more I got off, the more that would return, from Wegovy to Keto, to no meat, you name it. It’s been my journey. It doesn’t respond to healthy eating or exercise and causes you to lose muscle mass. It wasn’t until I was in my sister’s wedding in 2023, trying to find a dress to fit me, that I started to see my body get disproportioned, and my curves started rounding and denting. I wanted to tell her I did not want to be in her wedding, but me being me, I did it to make her happy. I did not feel beautiful, but I said, Delean, focus on your inner beauty and walk the walk, and smile the smile. “NIKE” Just do it. Watching others work out, it seemed so easy for them. I had to push harder, lift harder, run harder. Waking up feels like I work overtime every day. I am never refreshed; I am never rested. I have chronic fatigue; B12 shots don’t work. This condition sucks all the nutrients out of my body. I am in pain daily. It feels like I am carrying concrete in my legs, arms, back, and stomach. Anything you do, it’s triple harder for me to do. Household chores, events, cleaning, being a football mom, baseball mom, basketball mom, traveling, etc. Standing and sitting for long periods without elevating causes me to swell; elevating too long hurts. Laying in bed hurts. Praying day and night, asking God to heal me or make a way to be approved to get surgery so I can keep the mobility I have left, so I don’t end up confined to a wheelchair, a bed, or worse, dead from a blood clot. In heat too long, I swell. Compressions are my friend and enemy at the same time. Family and friends doubted me, so because I believed in me, starting in 2023, I began the battle to fight for my life to find out what was wrong with me. I read and researched day and night. I have spent thousands of dollars on travel, doctors, and testing, with absolutely no help. Yes, people knew, but said stop eating or it’s in your mind, you must be bumping into things that are causing you to bruise so badly. Hello, my name is <strong>Delean Daley and I have Lipedema</strong>, which is not the same as lymphedema, although I have that too. It is a fat connective tissue disorder. <strong>I have medically been approved to have surgery to be able to feel normal again.</strong> I have a lot of expenses ahead, and I am asking for your help to save my life. Those that know me, know I don’t ask for help; I usually give it. Please look up my condition to see what people like me go through daily and also what I am going to have to endure with my surgeries. Yes, I need six. I have not let this condition keep me down or let people feel sorry for me because you would have known. I get up every day and don’t try, I do. I make sure my family and friends are good, so it’s time for me to make a selfless act and have a selfish moment to make it all about me. Lipedema is triggered by hormones, and you know the human body has so many, especially women. So imagine trying to keep down stress and female hormones we naturally have. Let’s just say I put in work to keep the swelling down as much as possible. Keep me in your prayers, for all you believers. Do me a favor and smile; always remember it could be worse. God got me! Don’t hate because I don’t smell like smoke. I will not look like my story, and if that keeps you from helping, that is fine. I won’t get on here and cry to get help like some do lying.
