 Degnis Bofill is an incredible musician, a wonderful person, and my husband.

 On August 19th, Degnis was detained by ICE in Miami and is currently in their custody. I'm starting this fundraiser in the hope of collecting the funds needed for his release and to secure the legal representation he needs.

 Degnis is not only my partner, my pillar, and my support. He is also a beloved and important member of Miami’s music community: an educator, founder of the group Free Hits, and one of the most outstanding percussionists of his generation.

 Now, all of his professional and community projects have been put on hold, along with our own plans for our future and our family. The life Degnis had built in the US, both professionally and personally, has been suddenly and painfully disrupted.

 Our number one priority is to get him released. In a situation like this, time is of the essence. Having proper legal representation and being able to act quickly can make an enormous difference.

 Despite the support of family and friends, legal expenses are accumulating quickly and are difficult for me to manage on my own. Any contribution you can make to this fund would mean so much to us and will directly help us bring Degnis home.
