This account is to help my grandson, Chris Leverett. He was recently diagnosed with tongue cancer and on Thursday, July 24, 2025, he will be having surgery to have the tumor on his tongue removed, as well as all lymph nodes in his neck. Doctors will then use a flap of tissue from his leg to reconstruct the part of the tongue that had to be removed.

He will be at Trident Medical Center in Charleston, SC for surgery and in ICU for 7-10 days afterward. Chris will need a lot of therapy to regain his ability to eat and talk and more than likely will have to do radiation.

Chris is self-employed as an electrical contractor, and unfortunately has no health insurance. You can see in the pictures he also has a beautiful family. His recovery time will be long and painful. We hope people will be able to understand Chris and his family’s difficult circumstances, and feel the need to help them. We kept the goal rather small but we have no idea what the total will be.
