<div>As many of you know, our friend and neighbour Big Kerry, one of Penrhiwceiber’s own, has recently been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare and serious type of blood cancer that affects the bone marrow. This condition causes cancerous plasma cells to build up in the body, weakening the immune system, damaging bones, and affecting organs like the kidneys. It’s a lifelong condition that can’t be cured, but it can be treated and that journey is never easy.

<div>Kerry is now facing one of the toughest battles of his life, including intensive treatment and a stem cell transplant, which involves daily trips to Cardiff, long hospital stays, and constant care and monitoring.

<div>This has placed a huge emotional and financial strain on both Kerry and his wife, Angie, who has been by his side every step of the way.
</div>

</div>
<div>As a community, we’ve always looked out for each other and now it’s time for us to come together for Kerry and Angie. The costs they’re facing are overwhelming, daily travel, medical-related expenses, and the many hidden costs that come with long-term illness.

<div>Every donation, no matter how small, will help ease the pressure and allow them to focus on what really matters, Kerry’s fight and his health.

<div>If you know Kerry, you’ll know he’s a larger-than-life character with a heart to match someone who’s always there for others, never without a smile or a laugh, even in the hardest of times. Now it’s our turn to show him just how loved and supported he is.

<div>We’re also organising a charity night on Saturday 23rd August at The Legion (time to be confirmed). Tickets are £6 and the evening will feature a DJ, live band and ‘Brave the Shave’ with some of our local lads taking the plunge to raise money for Kerry. This is all being planned as a surprise, so please don’t mention it to him just yet we want to show him the full force of our love and community when the time is right.
