Hey ya'll. I'm Chantal firman, a family friend of Betsy and her four children: Catie-Claire, Lexie, Libie and Jack.

This past weekend Betsy took Jack to Children's after he had a high blood sugar of 440, when he got to the hospital it was 880. He was treated for diabetic Ketoacidosis- a life threatening condition, has since been stabilized but now has a new life-long diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes.

There will be a long road ahead of their family filled with new challenges—medical expenses, lifestyle adjustments, and an uncertain financial future as Betsy steps away from work to care for him, drive to appointments, pay for co-pays on expensive medicines and medical devices associated with his diagnosis.

As a single mom, Betsy has always done everything she can to provide for Jack, but this unexpected diagnosis means she needs our support more than ever. Medical costs, time away from work, and the burden of managing a new reality are overwhelming, and we want to rally around her in love and generosity.
