Anyone who knows Anna, knows she’s always helping others and loves doing it. She’s a veteran, and works for Veteran’s Affairs helping guide other vets to receive the help they need. If she see’s someone struggling, she just helps. She doesn’t ask what she can do. She just does it. That’s the kind of heart she has. She’s a busy wife and mom of 5 kids. At 39 years old, she was recently diagnosed with stage 3 ALK+ Non-Hodgin’s Lymphoma. She has a fight ahead of her and the bills coming in don’t care that she’s sick. The loss of income is a solid punch in the gut and their family is struggling to keep up. Anna is right in the prime of her life. Imagine just living life…working hard, raising a family and hanging out with friends and family and then BAM! You’re told that your focus now will be fighting for your life. Days are filled with long trips to UNC for appointments, chemo, blood transfusions, a daily regimen of pills and a whole list of things to expect like nausea, vomiting, dizziness, numbness fatigue and the list goes on. She has to be on the sidelines watching everyone else try to keep up with the things she wants to be doing, like caring for her family. I don’t know if I painted a clear picture of all that cancer has robbed from her, but I hope you find it in your heart to help. Any amount is appreciated and if you can’t give financially, consider cooking a meal for her family,
send a card, pray. She loves with her whole heart. Let’s show some love back.
