<div>This is so not my thing, but here I am.  One of my friends is lightly bullying me (out of love) into doing this, because apparently, being a hyper-independent island of a woman doesn’t work so well when you’re fighting Stage 3 colorectal cancer and the bills are stacking up like Jenga blocks.

<div>Let me introduce myself properly—my name is Amber, and I’m usually the one helping others, working hard, and pushing through like a one-woman storm. But right now, I’m having to do something that doesn’t come easy to me: ask for help. I haven’t been able to work consistently, and disability payments have been unpredictable at best. Rent, medical bills, insurance premiums—everything is piling up faster than I can keep up, and I’m doing my best to keep my head above water.
