<div>She is the sole provider for her family, but she has been in the hospital for a few weeks fighting a severe lupus flare. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can suddenly attack healthy organs, and in her case, it is affecting her kidneys.

<div>The doctors have had to suppress her immune system and give her high doses of steroid treatments, but her body was not responding well enough. Based on her biopsy results, she now has to undergo plasma exchange treatments, and today she has also received a blood transfusion.

<div>being unable to work for this long has created an enormous financial strain. The medical treatments are intense, the road to recovery is uncertain, and her family is doing their best to hold everything together during this difficult time.
