My sister Shavvon was diagnosed on March 2, 2018 with Stage 3 Hodgkin''s Lymphoma. It's been a rough road even getting to that point. At the beginning of 2017 my sister got a rash from the knee down. The doctors ran tests and gave her mutiple courses of antibiotics because they believed she was fighting some sort of infection. Finally, after her third course of antibiotics the rash stopped returning but, they were never able to find out exactly what was causing the rash. In August of 2017 my sister started not feeling well. Her feet were giving her problems; feeling swollen when they had no reason to be, and feeling sore with no reasonable explanation. In October of 2017 the pain started. Her feet started burning, tingling, and going numb. She fought through the pain which continued to gradually get worse until December of 2017 when she couldn't take it anymore. At that point she could barely stand by herself and had lost 60lbs. without trying. She went to her primary care doctor and was immediately put off work. The doctor said she believed my sister had neuropathy but, there was no medical reason that could explain why an otherwise healthy 33 year old woman should be experiencing neuropathy. Neuropathy is weakness, numbness, and pain from nerve damage, usually in the hands and feet. From December 2017 to March 2, 2018 my sister was seen by four different doctors and had multiple tests done all with the goal of figuring out what was happening with her. By March 2 we had learned that she definitely had neuropathy in her feet and it was beginning to spread to her hands. And worst of all she was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma.
She has a great doctor and a treatment plan. She'll be going through 12 treatment's of chemotherapy over the next 6 months. Her first chemotherapy is scheduled for March 15.
I'm raising money for her because things are tough right now. She's not able to work because of the neuropathy and as much as she'd love to be able to go through this all alone and not have to ask for help she needs HELP. So I'm reaching out to anybody that reads this and I'm asking for help! If you're able to donate please do, no amount is too small. All the money raised is going to her, it'll help pay medical bills, medicine she needs or may need, and anything else that will help make this time easier on her. If you can't donate please share her story! Thank you all!
