Stand by Mia: Overcome Loss and Hardship

Dear friends, family, and community,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of Mia’s recent loss and the overwhelming challenges she is facing. Mia, a selfless and caring woman who has always put others before herself, is now in a position where she needs our support more than ever.

Just a week ago, Mia’s husband, Mike, underwent a life-threatening triple bypass surgery. While recovering, he suffered a couple of strokes, and his health continues to be a serious concern. During this difficult time, Mia has been by his side, managing his care and staying strong for their family.

But tragedy struck again. On November 21, 2024, while Mia was still at the hospital with Mike, she received the heartbreaking news that her daughter, Athecia, had suddenly passed away at home. Athecia, who lived with Mia, leaves behind an 11-year-old son, Jo’el. As a single mother, Athecia had no life insurance, and now Mia is faced with the unimaginable task of grieving her daughter while also taking on the responsibilities of raising her grandson.

In addition to the emotional toll, Mia is now struggling to manage the significant financial burden. She is unable to work as she cares for both her husband and her grandson. With medical bills piling up from Mike’s hospital stay and surgery, funeral expenses for Athecia, and the everyday household expenses that must be met, Mia is in urgent need of support.

For those who know Mia, you know she is the first to step up for others. She has always been a pillar of support for everyone around her. Whether it was checking in on friends and family who were ill, going to their homes on her own time to offer comfort, running errands, or delivering care packages, Mia has consistently put the needs of others before her own.
