Stand By Farrah

Hi everyone. I feel terrible having to come to my community to ask for support, but I am in a very compromised position. As you may know, I am currently living in the surgical horror story that you often hear about, but imagine will never happen to you. My recent surgery resulted in a terrible infection between my skull and my cheeks. The bacteria is a strain that resists anti-biotics and will ultimately take my life if it is not dealt with properly.

The situation is very dire.

The first emergency attempt to remedy the infection came in the form of a highly invasive surgery where they essentially pressure washed my skull with anti-biotics. Unfortunately, this was not enough, and I am being called back for a two part series of surgeries that are not guaranteed to be effective, but that are mandatory if I am to survive. The big fear is the bacteria spreading from my skull to my brain. 

I have high hopes for the outcome, but do not know how I will be able to finance the journey. When I went into the initial surgery, I was in a great place financially. I had enough savings to sustain myself for months if need be. That turned out to be the case. What I was not prepared for was a series of back-breaking complications that would keep me out of work for the better part of the year. This is the second wave of surgical complications associated with this single procedure, and by the time this is over I will have needed 4 total surgeries to rectify the infection.

I have been in terrible pain for months now. And from the looks of it, I will be in terrible pain for months to come.

I would not be coming here if I was not at an utter loss for where to go and what to do from here. Once this is all over, I plan on getting back to work immediately and hopefully thriving once more. It is my goal to then raise money, dollar for dollar, and donate the exact amount that was donated to me to a trans healthcare organization that will help others who find themselves in the compromised position that I currently find myself in. 

Donated money will go towards my plane tickets to and from the surgery center, cheap hotels where I can stay to recover, and food to sustain me in the mean time.
