While I'm extremely saddened to post this update, it is necessary to update you all. On May 13th, Jan's son Clark's heart rate stopped and he peacefully passed away in the middle of the night. This is such a shock to all that know and love her, and I cannot begin to fathom the pain. Because she is the sole provider of her family (and her 3 children she continues to raise, Jake Josh and Berkeley) - we want to continue to support her through this nightmare and ask once again for your support as she will have to take time off work to process the situation and be with her family. On top of it all, they recently moved and are not yet settled in their new location. If you can donate any amount, I know each contribution will not go unnoticed. We appreciate you all beyond words.

During the morning hours of January 5th, a beloved friend and family member died while surfing with his good friend off Sunset Cliffs in San Diego, CA. Stan Searfus, only 56, leaves behind his beautiful family to include wife Jan and children Hank, Oskar, Clark, Berkeley, and young twins Jake and Josh; all of whom he loved dearly.
Stan lived with his family in Coronado, CA where he was a devoted and active member of the commmunity where he was a Lifeguard, Coronado High School and Middle School Surf Coach and founder of Blue Wave Coronado Surf Camp. He was passionate about the youth in his community and would lend a hand to anyone who needed. His selflessness and joy for life was absolutely tangible by anyone who was in his presence. After meeting him just once, he would call you his friend.
Stan's passing is obviously overwhelming for the family he leaves behind and his wife Jan will be supporting their 6 children in his absense. Please consider giving to support a family who has supported us these many years. All funds go directly to his wife and children.
We love you and will never forget you, dear friend. Our community will miss you more than words could say.
