Help for JAY JENSEN

Calling all angels to please help our brother with his insurmountable medical bills due to a long battle with Crohn’s disease and Stage 4 cancer of the small intestine (which is so rare there is no specific treatment so he is getting colon cancer treatments). Our good-natured brother, Jay Jensen, has patiently endured almost lifelong health struggles. He is a warrior fighting valiantly and courageously against all odds. He is our hero, but this Superman could really use your help.

Jay was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 15, and has managed a lifetime of medications (very expensive), surgeries, and setbacks. But you would never hear him complain. In July 2018, after a surgery for what they thought was for his Crohn’s disease, it was discovered it was cancer Stage 4, which should have taken his life then. Crohn’s took a backseat while the cancer became the focus.

He has been in and out of the hospital with many surgeries and chemo treatments, and just a few days ago he received bad news that the last chemo treatment didn’t work and his cancer has spread to other parts of his body. He is also dealing with infections and side effects probably due to the chemo: sepsis, hearing and vision loss, blood transfusions needed monthly, etc. He hasn’t been able to work for 2 months straight and because he is too sick and weak, he won’t be getting back to work. Though physically weak, he continues the fight to live.

His loving and caring wife, Julie, has been by his side through it all, even while she herself has had her own health struggles. She has not been able to work because she is Jay’s nurse 24/7. He is currently at home with IV’s and 24 hr. TPN. With pandemic conditions he is denied visitors and even the company of his beloved dogs with all the fragile equipment surrounding him. They have been married and living in their home for over 30 years, but have taken out 3 mortgages to try and make ends meet, due to their medical bills.

This couple has been through a lot, including losing their only child, sweet baby daughter Jesse, at age 15 months to a rare chromosomal disease—though years ago, they consistently receive more than their share of hardship. Their bills are through the roof and insurance doesn’t even begin to cover any of their medical costs, and some things are not covered at all. They’ve had a rough go of it for a very long time, and they could really use some sunshine.

Your kind donation of whatever amount will mean so much to them, and to our family, as we wish we could do more for them and make everything better. We don’t know how long Jay has left to live, but we know it will calm his heart to see some financial relief, as he is worried to leave his sweet wife destitute. We know that even if we don’t reach the goal amount, whatever amount will ease their burden and lift their spirit just to know that people care.

The accumulation of their medical bills is an overwhelming amount--$500,000 is what accrues each year for hospitalizations, surgeries, chemo, and medications. Could you please donate anything you can and/or pass this along to others to rally all the support we can for this good and gentle soul?
