Support for Stacy

Donation protected
Stacy In and her family (husband, Ed and daughter, Violet) had just received the joyous news that she was pregnant with their second child when their lives changed in an instant. They also learned that Stacy had breast cancer--invasive ductal carcinoma. To complicate things, her type of cancer becomes especially aggressive when fueled by pregnancy hormones.

Stacy and her care team have had to move quickly to save both her life and the life of her unborn son, who Violet has affectionately nicknamed "Choo-Choo." Since being diagnosed in January 2018, Stacy has undergone a lumpectomy, along with removal of several lymph nodes. The surgery successfully removed the cancer, but due to its aggressiveness, Stacy needs to start chemotherapy this spring. She'll continue with chemo even after Choo-Choo arrives this summer.

Chemo will take a toll on Stacy's immune system and energy levels (even on top of what her pregnancy will), so she has to temporarily stop the work she loves: teaching piano to kids. It pains her to give up her passion, but the potential exposure to illness and fatigue is too much of a risk to her health.

While the In family has medical insurance, Stacy's unique situation has required more testing and treatment than a typical cancer diagnosis or a typical pregnancy. Their out-of-pocket costs are already piling up and they anticipate the financial challenges to intensify when Stacy begins chemo and delivers the baby.

Usually, the Ins are accustomed to providing help and support to others, not asking for help themselves. But this situation has turned their entire world upside down. Along with your continued prayers, we're humbly asking for assistance with their medical bills, which would relieve some of the stress they're under, and allow them to focus on Stacy's health and their entire family's wellbeing. All funds donated through this Go Fund Me page will be put toward Stacy's medical expenses.

Please consider giving to this wonderful family, and sharing their story and this request with others.
