Stacy Thomas Phelps’ Medical Fund

This is Stacy! She is an amazing mom, friend and wife. She is always there to help others. She volunteers at the Mid county Senior Center,  is a member of the Santa Cruz Bible church and has held candlelight vigils for people that are no longer with us. Now she needs our help.

Stacy has a illness called Pulmonary Hypertension (PH). She was diagnosed with it over 13 years ago. It limits her activity and she carries a pack with medication that is administered automatically every 60 seconds via a pump that is connected to a central line to her heart. Through all of this, Stacy has still worked full time and kept a very active social life with her husband Brian and her 14 year old daughter. However, last week she had a set back. She developed AVM, basically the nest of capillaries between an artery and a vein in her lung collapsed and she starting spitting up blood. She was transported from Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz to Stanford, where her PH team is. After a 5 hour procedure they were unable to reach the malformation in her lung.  A new doctor and team took over her case and after many days of research and talking with other physicians they were able to come up with a plan. The procedure they had to preform had never been done on a patient with PH before. We were all very nervous!!!! But she did GREAT!!!!! She came through it like the champ she is and is thriving. After 13 days in the hospital she was very ready to go home.

We are asking for help with her medical bills, the cost of the transportation, life saving surgery and 13 nights at Stanford hospital will be astronomical!!!   Any amount will help.
