Stacie's Lymphoma Journey
Donation protected
Hi All,
My name is Stacie. I've just turned 27 and 8 weeks ago in November 2019, gave birth to my little boy.
That marked the start of my Lymphoma journey.
A week after I gave birth, I found a lump just above my left collarbone towards my neck. After bloodwork being done and being asked about family history of something called Lymphoma, I was referred to Hematology. From there, I was put forward for a biopsy which I had on December 17th 2019. The biopsy included the removal of not one, but two lumps from the site and was sent to Leeds for further testing.
On Friday, 3ŕd January 2020, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. I am now awaiting on PET scan to determine my staging and discuss how long i will be having treatment for.
I've been for a consultation about a wig for when i start chemotherapy and begin to lose my hair however these costs especially for a new parent on maternity leave are quite high. I am donating my hair to the little princess trust so that some good is coming out this, and I can help young(er) people who are going through the same or similar.
I am hoping to raise funds to be able to purchase a wig for when I start to lose my hair during treatment, which I should be starting within the next month.
I have put a target of £1000, if I make this or more I will put any extra monies raised towards transport to and from Castle Hill hospital where I will be undergoing treatment, and making donations to the charity Bloodwise (for Leukaemia and Lymphoma).
Thankyou for reading
