The Carothers Family

The Carothers family has been overwhelmed with all of the support, love, prayers, and offers to help that have been headed their way over the last few days and weeks.  Although they cannot personally respond to everyone at this time, they are eternally grateful for all of the love.

At the end of March, Stacey went to the orthopedic doctor for knee pain and soreness.  Over the past couple of weeks, she has had multiple tests, scans and doctor's appointments.  Doctors have discovered that she has metastatic melanoma in several locations in her body.  She was recently in Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh where an excellent team of doctors is developing a treatment plan to attack this disease.  She will follow up next week to determine exact next steps.

Stacey is the most kind hearted, caring, and giving person that I know and she has touched so many people including friends, family, students, and strangers with her unending generosity and warm spirit.  She has given to so many and at this time so many people want to be able to give back to her and her family.  This page has been set up as a way for friends to help and for the family to offer updates regarding her care.  Feel free to make a donation or leave an encouraging comment in hopes of strength for Stacey and her family.  Thank you for your support!
