<div>I’ll be honest, this is really hard for me to make. I’ve been quietly handling everything on my own for a long time, but I’ve recently been told it’s okay to ask for help… and that it might be time.

<div>My son was born with Waardenburg syndrome type 4, a condition that has impacted his hearing, digestive system and required constant medical care since birth. In just 2.5 years of his life, he has already been through 59 hospital visits and 6 procedures under anesthesia.

<div>We are now in the final stages before he undergoes a life changing cochlear implant, and while we are so close, the road to get here has been physically, emotionally, and financially exhausting.

<div>Our care has required frequent travel to hospitals in Seattle and Spokane, which has meant:

<div>* Time away from work while still trying to maintain income

<div>Some months, because of therapies, appointments, recovery, and travel, I’m only able to work about two weeks out of the month.

<div>Five months ago, we also totaled our car, and since then, every dollar I’ve tried to save toward replacing it has gone right back into my son’s medical needs.

<div>I am doing everything I can. I work full time as a hairstylist, I run a dance team, and I show up for both of my children every single day but the weight of doing this completely on my own has become overwhelming.

<div>More than anything, my children deserve stability, support, and a mom who isn’t constantly stretched thin trying to make impossible choices between medical care and basic needs.
