This Summer St. Vincent's Infant Boys School have initiated a project to generate funding to buy new, much needed Active Panel Smartboards for the incredible students and staff.

As an added element to this fundraising project, Chris O'Gorman will complete his first Half-Ironman Race in Finland on 3rd July 2021 in aid of the school.

Through this project and with your help and support, the school can continue to facilitate and enhance both the teaching needs and learning experience for the boys that is offered through the school. This support will also extend far greater than the just the boys as it will look to include them throughout the fundraising in various ways, all the while building strong bonds between each of their families and the school, ensuring that ‘from the death of each day’s hope, another hope springs up to live tomorrow’.

St Vincent’s Infant Boys’ School is a small school in the heart of Dublin’s inner city. The school is located on the banks of the Royal Canal.  There are 87 children across Junior Infants, Senior Infants and First Class. Of the 87 children, over 70% of the children have additional needs and over 40% of the children are living in temporary accommodation. A number of children are living in homes where there are many challenges; i.e. homelessness, low income, hunger, substance abuse, mental illness .The children regularly come to school with many unmet basic needs. Children who are hungry, cold or upset cannot learn.

The school is a safe haven for many of these boys and the staff work extremely hard to listen to families and to create a learning environment that best meets their needs. St. Vincent’s aims is to build a sense of belonging and routine for the children, as well as an environment of care, safety, fun and excitement. The children are offered a breakfast every morning and also dinner in the evening. As a result, the boys are guaranteed at least one hot meal a day. Seeing how the children thrive when they return to classrooms ready to learn and engage with stimulating learning experiences offered to them is truly rewarding and with your help, the school can continue to offer hope to these boys and their families.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and from the all the Students and Staff at St. Vincent's and from Chris, we want to thank you for showing us your support!
