St Ollies -Tournament of Minds Team
Donation protected
Tournament of Minds (TOM) is an international programme involving Primary and Secondary schools. It offers teams of students the opportunity to solve authentic, open-ended challenges that foster creative, divergent thinking whilst developing collaborative enterprise, excellence and teamwork.
Two St Ollie's teams that were successful at the Regional TOM Competition in August 2018, travelled to the Gold Coast on Sunday 16 September to compete in the QLD State Finals at Bond University.
One of our St Ollie's teams, '7 Chapters', won its category - Language and Literature and subsequently, has been invited to attend the national competition in Darwin on 11th to 14th October 2018 to represent QLD in the Primary School section.
There are seven children in '7 Chapters' hoping to get to Darwin along with Mrs Wilson (Enrichment Teacher). Between flights, accommodation and transport to and from the venues, it is going to be a significant expense - the total fee to attend exceeds $10,000. While our school is proud of the team's success and supports us going to Darwin, it cannot financially fund the children. Our school P&F will make a small contribution, but there is still going to be a significant shortfall.
We would love your support, in any small way that you can manage to help this team represent QLD and our fantastic school. It would mean so much to these children to be able to work together and challenge themselves to compete at the National level.

Sincerely,
