St. Nikolai Shelter Fundraising Campaign

We are Bulgarians living in the US. We are asking for help from Bulgarian communities in the U.S. because we want to help Bulgarians in need during these hard times. In the Bulgarian village of Novi Han there is an orphanage and shelter called St. Nikolai at the Holy Trinity Monastery. The man who is caring for the orphanage and shelter is Otets Ivan. In 2013, Otets Ivan built a shelter for homeless people in the village of Yakimovo. In Novi Han, there are about 40 people, and in Yakimovo, there are about 200, most of whom, are children. Before the pandemic, the donations for these homes have decreased significantly. Since early October, these homes are in the brink of bankruptcy. In the coming winter months, heating and food will be crucial but costly. The are in dire need of charcoal and firewood. For now, there is enough food but not for long. For a while now, everybody has been living off of rice, pasta, and lentils. Financial aid is needed for purchasing needed resources. Because of the pandemic, hygienic products are also necessary. Please help this noble cause. Afterwards, please share our campaign with your circle of friends. Even a small donation of $5 will make a difference.
