Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit St Marks Episcopal Church, and any donation will help make an impact.
For the majority of the decade of the St. Mark's Food Pantry's existence, we have stored food in two 50+ year old garages and hauled it into our small church hall each and every week. Now, we are in the midst of building a new social hall that includes a dedicated food pantry storage area and a loading dock (see plans below)! The pantry is putting up $40,000 in matching funds, so I'm hoping to raise $40,000 here.
The Food Pantry serves thousands of people in Medford and across the Rogue Valley, so this will make a tremendous difference to many people. The church has raised nearly $2 million for the rest of the building, but we are hoping for some community support to finish this particular corner. Whatever you can spare, thanks for donating!
The plan above is a detailed drawing of our planned food pantry storage area. You will note that there is a planned sink for washing food, a desk area for coordinating pantry operations, and places for a large refrigerator and freezer. Down at the bottom of this picture, and extending off the bottom, is the loading dock for easy unloading of food. Here is a picture of what the framed in area looks like:
Again, thank you for anything you can contribute toward this effort. We truly want this to be a community-sponsored effort.
