St. John Ice & Water Company

Donation protected
To our fellow islanders and island lovers.

After hurricane Irma destroyed much of the St. John Lumberyard complex one year ago, the St. John Water & Ice Company took a beating.  Until recently, however, we have been able to operate the business on a shoestring with a modified staff for the past 11 months.

Two months ago, mid August 2018, the owners of the Lumberyard complex mandated we cease all operations immediately so that demolition could begin.  Click to find the The St. John Source article , the The St. John Tradewinds  and The Virgin Islands Daily News articles.

Determined to continue to provide fresh water and ice to our community, we have been working out of a small truck in a parking lot primarily serving our contractor businesses.  However, this is not sustainable.  I realize that, as much as it pains me to do so, it is time to ask for help.   For those that know me, this is an extremely uncomfortable position, as I would much rather help than burden others.

I take great pride in what we offer St. John.  Not only do we provide water and ice:
-  we provide first job experiences for young men in our community, through which we build confidence, work skills and personal ethics.
-  we reduce plastics and consumer waste by refilling reusable containers.
-  we donate much of our earnings to the non-profit community in time of need.

This GoFundMe effort represents our most URGENT financial goal.  Immediate community funding will allow us to power an interim business within two modified shipping containers near the Lumberyard complex and once again provide water and ice to the greater community.  Therefore, I humbly request your assistance.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.
