St. James Minor Seminary Tanzania 100th Year Renovation Fund
Donation protected
My name is Fr. Pastor Mafikiri. I was born and raised in the Moshi Diocese of Tanzania, in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, and was ordained a priest in 1999.
I came to the U.S. in 2010 to study my Masters and Doctorate degrees and worked in the parishes of St. Aidan Catholic Church in Livonia, Michigan, and in Florida at St. Patrick's Church in Largo and at St. Michael the Archangel in Hudson.
In 2023 I returned to Tanzania and was assigned as Rector to the St. James Minor Seminary where I also attended school in my youth. This school was founded in 1925 to provide education and faith formation to young boys (ages 12-18) with the hopes of becoming future priests. The school infrastructure is outdated and in need of many significant repairs and renovations that the Diocese is unable to fund. We ask for assistance in providing a safe and productive learning environment in support of the students. These students come from very poor families in rural areas of the Moshi Diocese and there is also the opportunity to support individual students with tuition assistance.
Please visit our school website stjamesmoshi1925.org which has photos and additional information about our school.
Your financial support will be a blessing to these students and may you be blessed by your kind generosity.
