St. David's Church - Harvey Relief

Donation protected
St. David's Church -  a member of the Communion of Reformed Evangelicals.

St. David's is a presbyterian church that worships at the Spindletop Chapel in Hockley, Texas.

St. David's
started this campaign to provide direct support to the folks impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Gil Shivers, one of our elders, set up the campaign. All proceeds will go into our Deacon's Fund, and be disbursed from there.

Brian Cook, one of our deacons, administers the Deacon's Fund account, that is why he is shown as the beneficiary for the campaign.

All proceeds will be used to help hurricane victims.

What will we use the donations to buy?
It depends on where we are in the timeline: rescue mode, shelter/clean up mode, or recovery mode.

Rescue Mode examples - water, fuel, generators, Pedialyte, Ensure, life jackets, chain saws - the things that make it possible to get to people and keep them going until we can get them to shelters.

Shelter/clean up mode examples - underwear, toothbrushes, storage containers, coffee makers, clothing, backpacks, cleaning supplies, fans, dehumidifiers, wreck out tools, generators, water - the basic neccesities that displaced people need to live in shelters, and then the things they need to clean up their houses when the storm has passed/water has receded.

Recovery mode examples - shoes, clothes, gift cards (Walmart/Target), plane tickets, basic appliances - the things that enable people who have lost pretty much everything to move out of the shelter, usually into a place of their own or in with a friend or relative.

We are in the Houston Metro area, so our initial contacts for need will be in Houston. We know that opportunities are there to help our friends from other areas like Rockport, Port Authur, Beaumont, and Southwest Louisiana, we intend to provide as much help as we can as soon as it can be coordinated.

Any questions about how funds will be used can be directed to Pastor Adam McIntosh at [email redacted]rch.
