Build a new altar for SSPJ's chapel

Donation protected
The patriarchs of the Old Testament constructed altars to mark places in their lives and travels where they encountered God.  See, e.g., Genesis 12:7, 35:7.

I'm no patriarch, but before I leave Baltimore, I would like to build a new altar for the chapel at Ss. Philip & James Church , where weekday Masses are celebrated.  The current altar has served its purpose admirably, but in the estimation of many is....well....just not fit for the space.

I've drawn up some plans for a fitting altar that will draw on the existing design elements of the chapel, using solid quarter sawn oak and white Carrara marble.

Just recently, Fr. David, O.P., the pastor, gave me the go ahead to "make it so."  Here's where you come in....How often do you have the opportunity to contribute to the construction of a new altar?  Your donation can help offset the cost of this project and ensure that the finest possible materials are used in its construction.

Many of you know that I built an altar for the friars' chapel at Ss. Philip & James back in 2013.  The proposed project, while a bit more ambitious, is certainly feasible.

Please consider a donation to support this worthy cause.  I've set a target of $2000 to aquire the necessary materials and supplies.  Any unused funds will provide for the ongoing furnishing of the chapel or the main church.
