SS Friends The Wall That Heals

The Wall That Heals honors the more than three million American men and women, husbands, wives, and sons and daughters who served in the US Armed forces in the Vietnam War and bears their names of the more than 58,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice!  It should be noted that June 8, 1956, the first US fatality of the Vietnam War occurred. His name was Richard B. Fitzgibbon, Jr and he was from North Weymouth.  He is one of only three fathers and their sons whose names appear on The Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial Wall.  ALL families who lost loved ones deserve to heal.

For those who cannot make the journey to DC, this newly improved 375 foot memorial replica and educational center allows those families and friends left behind to find moments for healing and welcoming home those that paid the ultimate price or were missing in action.  This Exhibit allows us to pay tribute to those fallen as well as provides an educational experience for the younger generations of today. 

This fund will not only support the VVMF The Wall That Heals exhibit, but will also provide for the utilities, facilities and other items necessary to bring this amazing memorial to the South Shore communities.  Any remaining funds will be directed back to support local veterans organizations.  Please consider a donation of any amount to support your local community and the heroes who should finally be welcomed home!  Thank you!
