Kenny’s Medical Bills
Kenneth Worcester was 40 years old, a few months ago he was feeling severe stomach pain and went to the hospital for three days and was diagnosed with diverticulitis. He was sent home to recover. On Memorial Day 2020 he was admitted to the hospital again and our family believed it was for the same stomach pain he was always dealing with, however our family was hit with devastating news when doctors did a CT scan and found a tumor the size of a peach attached to his colon and abdominal wall. He was informed on Tuesday that it was cancer and that they wanted to start chemotherapy as soon as possible. Kenny continued to deteriorate and doctors had him moved to Baylor, Scott & White in Plano on Friday afternoon where he would be able to get better care in hopes of starting Chemotherapy quickly. Our hopes were dashed when the doctors had to do emergency surgery to fix another hole in his colon. Knowing he only had a 30% chance of survival he wanted to give it a try. Kenny did survive the surgery and was put on a Ventilator in hopes that his body would gain strength to prepare for chemotherapy. Our hope for his recovery was extinguished when we learned his kidneys were now failing and it was very difficult to maintain his blood pressure. After consulting with all four of his doctors it was decided by the family that he should be remove from the ventilator and placed on Morphine to control his pain. This was done On June 2, 2020 at 3:30pm with family by his side to say our goodbyes to our dear Kenny. He eventually passed in the early morning hours of June 3rd only nine days after he first entered the hospital.
Kenny was a huge part of our family, and was loved so dearly by everyone. He was incredibly smart. and knew how to light up a room, very warm heart and kind, always willing to help anyone in need.
We are raising money to help pay for Kenny’s remaining medical bills and should we have any funds leftover they will be donated to the American Cancer Society in Kenny’s name.
Thank you for helping us in this difficult time.
