This is Mike Mariani and Devin Mclaughlin, we are two sixteen year old's from the small towns of Spofford and West Chesterfield, NH. We are planning on completing a cross country bicycle journey this coming summer of 2020, for our chosen cause of suicide prevention. We've chosen to take on this difficult ride for suicide prevention due to how Nathan Mariani, a friend and brother, passed away in 2018 to suicide. Nate was 16 years of age and was a kind and funny kid, he will forever be in our hearts. We know what the pain feels like to loose a loved one to suicide and we want to do what we can to help limit the suffering felt across the nation. We hope to inspire and show how long challenging roads can lead to beautiful destinations.
In order to make this dream all possible we hope to generate enough funds necessary to complete the ride. Our set goal of $20,000 is to cover both of our expenses along the trip for food, gear, and lodging as well as to cover the support vehicles needs. Since we will be primarily bike packing (camping and sleeping in tents) we hope to complete the ride spending under what our goal is, in which remaining funds will be donated to suicide prevention.
We will continue fundraising from now until the end of our journey in late August, donating all proceeds exceeding our goal to suicide prevention!
