Jump For Cancer

Since October 2O19,  I fought and fought with the doctors that something wasn't right with my body as i was struggling to breath most days but the doctors kept saying it was asthma and giving me new inhalers.  After going back and forth so many times they finally sent me for a CT scan on the Monday of the first lockdown and on the Tuesday they phoned saying they had found a tumour around 12cm behind my chest bone.  After having a biopsy etc,  it came back and was confirmed that it was cancer..   I had to start chemotherapy straight away due to how fast it was growing, I had 6 rounds of chemo and 15 radiotherapies.  During this tough time The Teenage Cancer Ward helped me alot,  they supported me,  they gave free gifts to myself and even my two sons, they made me feel so welcoming and that I wasn't alone.

Being only 24 and hearing that I had cancer was a very scary experience because when people hear the C word they automatically think death.  My first thought was death but also my hair because it was so long.  I knew within that day of hearing 'you have cancer' that I had to fight with all I had especially for my two sons because I wanted to see them grow up.  The Teenage Cancer Trust helped me in so many different ways.  When I was admitted to the hospital which was nearly every week, they made sure there was lots to do so I didn't get bored, they had lots of food (chocolate, crisps, so many yummy foods), they had the hub which has an Xbox, Nintendo switch, drawing, books, pool table, everything you could imagine they had it!

I couldn't have got diagnosed at the worst possible time.. during the world pandemic.  But I was so lucky my tumour was caught when it was because if not I wouldn't be typing this and for that I will always be grateful for a second chance in life and not giving up when I knew something was wrong.

On the 4th of December 2O2O, I got the news that I was in REMISSION!

I want to give back to the nurses and charity that helped me which is why I have decided I am going to.. S K Y D I V E !  Yes skydive, jump out of a plane 10,000ft!!

I haven't got the exact date yet for the jump but it will be in June,  (if Covid-19 doesn't change).  I am asking everyone/anyone,  if you could kindly spare any money you may have to help raise as much as I can for the Teenage Cancer Trust.  ALL the money raised goes to the charity, NO money goes on the cost of the jump.  It is all to charity.   Every penny counts.  Thank you so much for reading and even more so if you have donated,  thank you very much.  It is ever so appreciated!

Sadly cancer can happen at any time and any AGE.   It is a horrible horrible disease and I hope one day there will be a cure for it.  I can't wait to give back and help other teenagers and younger who have cancer or have had cancer but are now in remission.

If you have read this far,  I just want to say thank you so much! I will be keeping everyone updated on my skydive jump once the date is confirmed.   Thank You.
