As a young child I can remember sitting in my classroom and hearing sirens go by. We would immediately stop whatever we were doing, so the teacher could lead us in prayer. We had no idea what the emergency was, but it didn’t matter, someone out there needed help and we were asked to hope and pray for their safety.
At St. Elizabeth Seton School we take safety very seriously and not just because our school is filled with the Staff and students we love, but more importantly it’s because our building is filled with the Staff and students YOU love and have entrusted to our care! We do our best to insure everyone’s safety both from the outside and on the inside.
Over the past three years we have been working closely with the Rochester, NH Fire Department to ensure our school building meets all mandatory fire codes. We have spent over $70,000 to date on the installation of fire doors in all stairwells and modifications to our two boiler rooms. Now we are facing the task of having a sprinkler system installed throughout the building, a project that is estimated to cost approximately $120,000-$140,000. This work will be completed this summer and our accredited school will continue its mission and serve the children in our area.
