Springfield Get Caked!

We are sad to announce that an ex-employee, Pete Jennison, recently passed away over Christmas. Unfortunately, Pete was battling his demons as we all do, and he reached a point where he was so ill his family could not care for him on their own.
As a result, Pete's family contacted Dove House and asked for their help. The next day they came to pick him up and take him to their home.
Pete only spent a week there, but in that time, he was made to feel so comfortable, and it was a peace of mind that he was in there where he felt safe and looked after 24/7. Importantly, all his family and loved ones got the chance to see him before he passed away.
When asked why it would be nice to give back to the charity, Pete's brother-in-law Ian Horne (current Springfield employee) said, 'The full family think that it's such an amazing place, that help so many people, and we know that they heavily depend on donations and charity events to keep them open. So we just wanted a way to say thank you for everything they did for Pete and our family.'
As a result, we're submitting a team to compete in the Get Caked 5 mile run to raise money in Pete's memory for the Dove House Hospice.
The Get Caked Run is 5 miles of muddy wet fun in the beautiful Yorkshire Countryside of Sledmere House. We will climb over logs, crawl through muddy trenches, jump through tyres, and take on the Sledmere Slide. We currently have 14 participants racing for Team Springfield in honour of Pete.

They improve the quality of life of their patients by offering specialist care which is holistic and individually tailored. The charity offer specialist inpatient care, symptom control, end of life care, daycare, planned short-term respite care, social care and more.
