My name is Rachel Shelton, and I am a citizen of Springfield, MO who has concerns about the City Council's decisions to force mandated face masks for its citizens and businesses. I believe in the freedom of choice; if someone wants to wear a mask that is their right, however, government doesn't have the power to dictate and control our body autonomy.
I have filed a lawsuit against the Springfield Mayor and the individual city council members and need the communities financial support to see it through until the end. The first step of the lawsuit is to put a temporary restraining order to reverse the mask mandate in the City of Springfield. However, we will give you updates on this GoFundMe page and also social media, as the city responds back to us. (We are not taking any personal financial gain. If we were to receive more donations then the legal fees and expenses we will donate it to a Springfield charity.)
As we all know this goes beyond just the freedom of the mandated mask by City Council; I am concerned, as we all are, where this loss of freedom will lead and that it is just the tip of the iceberg of what's to come.
To those of you who have the same concerns and have asked "what can we do?" Here is your opportunity to put action to your belief and make a difference in OUR city.
