Margaret, my mother, was a true lover of flowers and plants. She found joy in tending to her gardens, especially at her second home in Gatlinburg, where she spent countless hours planting, arranging, and nurturing blooms. Whenever she attended a wintertime funeral, she would always remark on the sadness of seeing beautiful flowers go to waste, knowing they would not survive the frost. Her wish was always for flowers to be enjoyed in full bloom, bringing color and life to the world around her.

 After her recent passing, I want to honor her memory in a way that truly reflects her spirit. Instead of traditional funeral arrangements that will fade quickly, I am raising funds to purchase and plant flowers at her Smoky Mountain home and at her grave, once the weather is free from frost. This living memorial will be a lasting tribute to Margaret’s love for gardening and the beauty she shared with everyone who knew her.
