Help Our Heroes: A Plea for PPE

This is an URGENT plea for N95 masks to protect our Southern California doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers on the frontline of this COVID-19 battle. They are saving lives every day during this pandemic, it's time we help save them.
My friend was a victim of COVID-19 several weeks ago. He was admitted into the ICU, intubated, put on a respirator, and induced into a coma. After weeks of intensive care by hospital staff he is now recovering. His survival, though long and difficult, was a miracle due to the tireless efforts of doctors and other healthcare workers who continue to risk their lives.
Those doctors and nurses who helped save the life of my friend reached out and are pleading for personal protective equipment (PPE) donations as they are running out and in desperate need of any help. Unfortunately, this is the story of many hospitals throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego as they are caring for the overwhelming amount of patients with COVID-19. While the government and large manufacturers are doing their best to keep hospitals equipped, the reality is they are still falling short of PPE. Healthcare providers are reusing their disposable masks or using homemade masks and many have already gotten sick. The hospital staff are overworked and cannot wait on the promise of supplies. We need to act now.
The main focus will be sending out N95 respirators, but other much needed items may include face shields and nitrile gloves.
This is my effort to help in the most honest and transparent way possible. It is not a long-term solution, but it is a solution for today. These donations will help alleviate the need until more help arrives. I hope you join me in donating and sharing this page.

Where are the PPE equipment coming from?
The distribution manufacturers are based and shipping from the U.S. (not China)
Are they reliable and authentic N95 masks?
Yes. These masks are NIOSH and CDC-approved N95 respirators and can be found on the official CDC website. This product filters at least 95% of airborne particles. Receipts and photos will be shared!
How will the items be delivered?
- All deliveries and drop-offs will be coordinated with a hospital staff
- N95 masks will be directly shipped to hospitals
- Other PPE's will either be shipped directly or personally delivered by me

Jacqueline Vu, OD - I am originally from San Jose but moved to Southern California in 2005 and now living in Huntington Beach since 2015. I've volunteered on two medical mission trips abroad to India and Colombia, participated in local charity efforts including Special Olympics, Lion's Club, Illumination Foundation, Vision To Learn, and LA Care Harbor.
