Help Nikki buy a wheelchair & gain independence

Hey, my name is Nikki. And in 2017, after becoming bedbound with chronic illness, I was diagnosed with the connective tissue disorder Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, and Postural Orthostatic Tacycardia Syndrome, a form of autonomic dysfunction. These conditions cause me acute and chronic pain, cause frequent injuries, vertigo and fainting, weakness and fatigue (amoungst other things, that I don’t need a wheelchair for).
A couple of years ago I was adament I wasn't going to ‘need’ a wheelchair - so I have since struggled along using a very basic chair: much like being pushed around in a heavy metal box, that causes me further pain.
At the moment, I don't have the independance of leaving the house on my own, or going out with friends. It is extremely isolating and has affected my mental health, as many of the things that lift me up, and allow me to participate, are inaccessable to me.
I am almost completely dependent on my wheelchair to travel any real distance and, therefore, someone to push me too: which isn’t usually possible. I would love to have the independance I deserve - to travel alongside my partner, go out with friends or family, and spend time outside.
We have found a folding electric wheelchair chair that is lightweight enough for others to lift in and out of their cars, can be used outside, and would allow me some independence. The cost of the chair, in addition to the money we spend on medical treatments and support, is just too much for us (and disabled people aren't currently being provided appropriate wheelchair provision) so we're turning to you for help.
