Sponsored Bike Ride - for Quakers in Europe
Raising Funds for Friends of Quakers in Europe – Supporting the Quaker Council for European Affairs NGO in Brussels with their valuable diplomatic work, migrant and refugee support, peace, security and conflict resolution in Europe and its borders.
I’m completing a cycle ride on my fold up Brompton bike travelling from Friends House (British Quakers) in Euston Road, London via Eurostar to the Quaker meeting house in The Hague, Netherlands. Between Friday 1 December and Monday 4 December. Total distance by train is 317 km plus the bike ride to The Hague being 30km.
Quakers in Europe undertake valuable, quiet diplomacy working with the EU and member states to put forward non violent solutions to security and refugee issues across the region. They also work to mitigate the effects of climate change adhering to Quaker principles of stewardship of the planet.
Anything you can give (minimum of 5 GBP) on this platform will go towards funding this valuable and life affirming work.
All funders will receive a short brochure documenting my trip along with more detailed information on the work Quakers are undertaking internationally to support those caught up in war, conflict and human rights abuses, including work with the United Nations in Geneva and New York.
