FUNDRAISING INITIATIVE BY POPULAR DEMAND

The Donors of the JB@the100 fundraising drive have been inspired to purchase a grand piano and other musical instruments for the Upper Room of the Achimota Music School. This proposal aims to honor former Music Department heads and foster the continued growth of music at the school.

ORCHESTRA COMPOSITION

A large orchestra typically includes 80 to 100 players, while smaller orchestras may consist of 40 to 50 musicians. These musicians are divided among at least 15 different instruments representing all instrument families.

• Strings : Violin, Viola, Cello, Double bass, Harp

• Woodwind : Flute, Piccolo, Clarinet, Bass clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Cor anglais, Bassoon, Contrabassoon

• Brass : Trumpet, Trombone, Bass trombone, French horn, Tuba

• Percussion (Unpitched) : Snare drum, Bass drum, Djembe, Kpanlogo, Shekere Shaker, Gong, Cymbals, Castanets or Frekyewa

• Percussion (Pitched) : Triangle, Timpani, Chimes, Xylophone, Marimba, Glockenspiel, Vibraphone
