Does theatre inspire you and touch a place in your heart? Do you want to support the local theatre scene? Whether it’s a comedy which makes you laugh or a drama which grips you from the start, theatre brings people from all walks of life together. As ex-pats living in Europe, English-language theatre is a lifeline for us, helping us stay in touch with our culture and heritage, as well as sharing it with our European friends and theatre lovers.

From the 26th to the 29th of May 2023 the English-language Festival of European Theatrical Societies (FEATS) will take place in the Kurtheater Bad Homburg. This theatre festival takes place in spring in a different European city each year. FEATS is regarded as one of the best organised and most professional English-speaking amateur theatre festivals in continental Europe.

Over four evenings, twelve English-speaking theatre groups from continental Europe compete against each other in a spirit of friendly competition. In addition, a fringe with workshops and other performances from various theatre groups from Europe and the Rhein Main area takes place during the day.

FEATS 2023 will be hosted by Frankfurt English Speaking Theatre e.V. (FEST). Founded in 1977, FEST is a Frankfurt-based non-profit theatre club with around 100 members and is run by volunteers. Visitors to the festival in Bad Homburg come from various European cities such as Amsterdam, Basel, Brussels und Luxembourg, but also from Frankfurt, Bad Homburg and other towns in the region. To ensure the success of the festival, we are reliant on sponsors and donations.

So, if you want to support local theatre, please help us by donating to ensure that FEATS 2023 is a success! As the organising committee - a handful of volunteers - can tell you, every donation helps and for donations of €100 or more, we will give you a free ticket (two free tickets for €200 or more, etc.!) for the evening of your choice! For donations of €500 or more, you will also receive a backstage tour on the evening of your choice, as well as five free tickets.

If you donate €200 or more, your name will be printed in our programme.

10% of every donation will be given to the charity Bärenherz, which runs hospices for children with cancer who are terminally ill.
