Sponsor a Head Shave Fundraiser

My name is Sami and the lovely lady in the photo is my mum, Gillian (55). She has Terminal Bladder Cancer which has spread to her spine. I’m hoping to raise money to help her with the outrageous costs of medical treatments (holistic and pharmaceutical) and her living expenses for the time she has left.

She has has spent the past 39 years dedicated to helping the sick and elderly as a night shift Aged Care Worker.
Those who know her would agree, she is a woman with a heart of gold and is always doing everything she can to help and support anyone in need. 

Seemingly out of nowhere, what started as a stubborn UTI turned out to be invasive bladder cancer. We have now been told it has spread to her spine and she is terminally ill. She is in a great amount of pain and requires regular doses of Morphine to get her through the day.

My hard-working, independent mother is now faced with being unable to return to work, the medical costs and living expenses have already taken all her savings and she has no insurance or sellable assets apart from her car.....and we are only at the start.

There’s still so much we need to try to beat this or at least buy as much time as possible, my younger sister is having her first baby in November and my mum is determined to help her through the first few months of motherhood (once again, as usual - only thinking of others). 

So I have decided to attempt a fundraiser to help ease the worry and stress of financial burden, and prevent her from having to ask people for help, which is something that she never does.  

I am asking for people to sponsor me to shave my head (like how they do for the Leukemia Foundation every year), except the money raised will go to my mum, not the charity. I know the target amount is a lot of money but it would help her so much,  I love my hair but if losing every strand means helping make things slightly easier for her, I have to try.
