Hello Friends and Family, my name is Dr. Shaaban Fundi. I manage a small pre-, primary, and after-school enrichment school in Turiani, Morogoro-Tanzania. The website for the school can be found here. The school has over 55 students in the preschool program, 25-grade one students, and over 150 students in the afterschool academic enrichment program.
Many of our students come from less privileged families and thus, struggle to pay school fees. For the school to keep functioning, we charge $135 and $200 per year per child for pre-scholars and primary school students, respectively. This sum pays salaries for our four teachers, a school manager, a groundkeeper, a cook, and a school watchman/guard, and pays utility bills (water, electricity), and is also used to purchase teaching and learning resources for the school.
This is truly a service to the community rather than a profit-making venture and the little profit we make is reinvested to scale up the initiative. Last year, we were able to raise $1875 to support 20 students on a cost-sharing basis with parents (if you donate $135 or $200--two students will be supported with you paying half and the parent paying the other half).
I am asking for your support to donate or pay for a child's school fees for a year. We provide excellent early education (pre-and primary) and enrichment programs for students in our community including mentoring and travel experiences to nearby Mikumi National Park. Once you donate or pay for a child's school fees. You will be linked (with your permission) to a WhatsApp group with other parents of children at the school to receive daily picture updates of the lessons and activities that our students are doing at the school. Please support us with whatever amount you can afford.
Together we can build a strong educational foundation for the children of Tanzania.
